Reel to Trip

Cookie Policy

Last updated 11 July 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (like browser local storage) that Reel to Trip uses, and how you can control them.

What these technologies are

Cookies are small files a site stores on your device. We also use local storage, a similar browser technology, for the identifier that keeps your trips associated with you. We refer to both as "cookies" below for simplicity.

Categories we use

Strictly necessary (always on). These are required for the service to work and can't be switched off:

  • A device identifier in local storage that links your browser to your trips (this is what lets you use the app without an account).
  • Your saved Instagram handle and cookie-preference choices.
  • Security and load-balancing set by our hosting provider.

Analytics (optional). These help us understand aggregate usage — which pages are visited, where errors occur — so we can improve the product. They only run if you allow them, and you can change your mind any time.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't sell the information these technologies collect.

Managing your choices

Set your analytics preference on our Manage Cookies page. You can also control or clear cookies in your browser settings — note that clearing the strictly-necessary device identifier will disconnect this browser from your existing trips. Most browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which we honour as an opt-out of optional analytics where technically feasible.

Third parties

Some optional cookies may be set by the analytics and error-monitoring providers we use to operate the service. Those providers act on our behalf and are described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes and contact

We'll update this policy if our use of cookies changes, and update the date above. Questions? privacy@reeltotrip.com.
